Charlotte Tilbury

For someone who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup, you could say I went a little overboard last year as I finally disposed of the eyeshadows I’ve had since 1985. I know, gross! The first item I purchased was the Magic Away Liquid Concealer (see my first impressions) although the shade was a bit too light for my complexion. Probably should have gone for shade 3 or 4 Fair instead of the 2. Oh well. A disadvantage of not being able to try them in person.

My next purchases were a couple of lipsticks from her Matte Revolution and 😘 K.I.S.S.I.N.G formulas. I’d also heard great things about her cream eyeshadows but they were sold out of the Rose Gold I really wanted. Jean was also on my wishlist but if I had to choose one colour to try first, I wanted a more pigmented shade like the one Charlotte used on Carina Lau.

If I do wear makeup, I usually go for a more natural makeup look so the Pillow Talk Eye & Blush Duo definitely ticked all the boxes for me. Of course, you can build these up if you prefer but for me, less is more.

Unfortunately, I found the shimmer shade really hard to pick up with my finger. It’s really hard and dry – definitely looked a lot creamier on social media.

A few of you recommended the Filmstar Bronze and Glow and I finally splurged on that as well. Must admit, I was coveting it for a while but have been dying to try the lip cheat, as well as her eye and brow items. Just trying to pace myself. As you can see, it’s going pretty well. ;P

That untouched out-of-the-box feeling

Sadly, I was pretty disappointed with the Sunset Lover lipstick (on the left). It just wasn’t as pink as what I’ve seen elsewhere. Has anyone else noticed that with theirs?

Sunset Lover, Amazing Grace, Carina’s Love, Love Bite, Enigmatic Edward

As you can see, I’ve picked up a few of her lipsticks in a relatively short amount of time. It was such a hard choice picking one shade from her Hot Lips 2 collection, especially since her cases are so gorgeous, refillable and would ultimately like to order one of each design.

It was somewhat easier whittling it down to one choice for each case but since I already had another Matte Revolution shade in my cart, I decided to just pick one design. The panther was my favourite so it was an easy choice btwn the Angel shade and clear. I knew the former would be too peachy for me and don’t normally choose nudes so it was a no brainer. Enigmatic Edward may not have a tint but I can prep my lips and contains Hyaluronic Acid.

I also picked up Eyes to Mesmerise in Rose Gold and The Retoucher (not shown).

I love these little pots of goodness, especially as a light glowy finish that’s not over the top like other shimmers. Just dip your finger (or brush) in and apply the cream eyeshadow wherever you want a spot of colour. The formulation is so light and dreamy. I’ve even used the rose gold to clean up the edges on my eyeshadow to brighten up the eye. It does crease on me though.

Finally, after swatching a bunch of lippie shades, I have to say, I prefer Bitch Perfect over Pillow Talk since the latter looks quite brown on me and gravitate towards Walk of Shame over Bond Girl.

Are you a little (**cough** a whole lotta) obsessed with her products too?
